Pregnant Man Thomas Beatie Splits From Wife

Thomas Beatie, who made headlines in 2008 when he became the world's first known man to give birth, has split from his wife of nine years.

Beatie announced the split from his wife, Nancy, during a taping of an episode of "The Doctors", which is set to air on May 7,People reported.

"Like all marriages, we have our ups and downs, and we’re going through a rough patch right now," the 38-year-old said. "At the moment, we’re separated."

Beatie also revealed that he had undergone the last of his female-to-male sex reassignment surgeries.

"Nancy hasn’t seen the new me yet," said Beatie, who began his sex-reassignment surgeries in 2002.

Since giving birth to the couple's first child, Susan, in July 2008, Beatie has given birth to two sons, Austin and Jensen.
